New Multi-Cast Titles

Honored to be a part of two excellent new projects:

1. Fifty Year Mission – this is the comprehensive, unauthorized oral history of the first fifty years of Star Trek, compiled by Mark A. Altman and Edward Gross. A full cast brought this book to life for Macmillan Audio, and I cast to portray Brent Spiner (Data), Scott Bakula (Jonathan Archer), and many others from Star Trek: the Next Generation to the present day.

2. After: The Battle Has Just Begun – Meet eight combat-injured men who sustained life-altering injuries. Hear eight inspiring stories of heroism and the re-building of independent, productive and fulfilling lives after seemingly impossible circumstances. It also introduces the non-profit organization Warrior Foundation – Freedom Station which has taken on the task of helping our combat-injured men and women make the daunting transition from military to civilian life. 100% of the proceeds benefit them in this much-needed labor of love.

I was honored to join a cast that included Gary Sinise, Scott Brick, and R.C. Bray to bring these soldiers’ stories to audio, and to support this worthy organization. Thanks to author R.J. Belle and the good people at Punch Audio.

Audie Awards 2016

Wednesday, May 11th was the Audie Awards at the Adler Planetarium in Chicago. The show was hosted by the brilliant Paula Poundstone, and showcased the best audiobooks of the year.

In other news, the film I costarred in, In the Name of the Nameless, premiered at the Cannes Film Festival this week! Although I wasn’t able to make it out to the south of France, it was a thrill to walk the red carpet in Chicago.

Congratulations to the Audie finalists and to all of the winners!

Beyond the Book – APAC Panel Discussion

Recently I was in Chicago to moderate a panel named “Beyond the Book” for the Audio Publishers Association Conference (APAC).

We had an incredible lineup of guests from the world of public radio, storytelling, comedy sketch, and audio drama – including Ben Calhoun (WBEZ/This American Life), Christopher Piatt (The Paper Machete Show), and Robin Hammond (The Second City).

Thanks to all who came out for this great discussion of the spoken audio landscape – and how these different traditions are coming together in new and exciting ways in the months ahead!

My thanks and appreciation to Kelly Gildea, Bruce Mann, and the whole team for an incredible experience. The book and audiobook release on April 12, 2016.

I’ve also recently recorded my first title for Harper Audio, coming soon to Audible and Audio CD. It’s called “Eat Dirt” from popular health expert Dr. Josh Axe, and will be available March 29, 2016.
